He liked differences: this is probably why he travelled so much.

Truffle is reputed a true gastronomic jewel in South Piedmont. Although black truffle is available throughout the year, what captures every year gourmets from all parts of the world is the valued white truffle (Tuber Magnatum Pico).

The “truffle world” is somewhat mysterious, with searchers wandering in the woods at night to keep their secret places hidden to others, and then selling their treasures with absolute understatement. The same nature of white truffles is to some extent mysterious, as we don’t fully understand its characteristics.

The best way to approach this world and reveal its mysteries is walking in the woods with a trifulau (truffle searcher) and his inseparable dog, specially trained for this purpose and essential for a positive result.

After an introduction to truffles, you’ll start your walk in the woods with the trifulau urging his dog to search. The most thrilling moment is when the dog starts digging and the trifulau rushes to him and extracts the truffle using his weed.

At the end, your efforts will be rewarded by an aperitif/tasting.
